Overview

The research component of the Mayo Clinic Vascular Medicine-Clinical Research Training Program is based on the existing K-30 curriculum for a certificate and master's degree program (Clinical Research Training Award, K-30, HL004099) and K-12 research development program (Mayo Multidisciplinary Clinical Research Development Program, 1 K12 HD049078). Dr. Sherine Gabriel, Principal Investigator for both of these programs is a proposed mentor for the VM-CRT Program. and Dr. Miller, a proposed mentor and member of the Administrative Committee, is a theme leader on Mayo's K-12 program. Curriculum offerings and requirements for the K-12 are described below. While it is recognized that there will be a wide range of expertise of trainees applying for Mayo's VM-CRTP, it will be strongly recommended that the trainee pursue a Master's in Clinical Research if the trainee does not already have similar credentials.

Didactic Curriculum Offerings for the Master's in Clinical Research

Elements of the required didactic curriculum will include:

• Population Sciences
• Biostatistics
• Clinical Research Methods
• Behavioral Sciences
• Leadership training module

In addition, a series of electives will be available for trainees to choose from in order to complete the 24 credit requirement. Trainees must maintain a 3.0 GPA in their required courses.
