Echo and Vascular Physiology Research Unit
Director, Co–Director, OverviewThe Mayo Clinic Echocardiography Laboratory is a large facility, performing approximately 300 echocardiographic and Doppler hemodynamic studies every day. This includes approximately 35 stress echocardiograms and 25 transesophageal echocardiograms. The Echocardiography Laboratory has a large clinical cardiology training program and a school of cardiovascular ultrasound, and it sponsors 12 to 15 echocardiography meetings around the world. The laboratory also has a large research initiative. The Echocardiography Laboratory publishes more than 100 manuscripts a year and has 10 to 30 fellows involved in basic, translational and clinical research in echocardiography. The lab requires that people interested in its research fellowship program have completed cardiology training and can commit at least one full year to research. The Mayo Clinic Echocardiography Laboratory has a superb faculty and training program, spearheading research in all aspects of echocardiography. Current projects
