SummaryMy general research program focuses on understanding the genetics of complex human diseases. One area of research is the development of new statistical methods and software to analyze genetic data, primarily family-based studies (e.g., linkage studies) and case-control studies. These methods are often motivated by collaborations with other Mayo investigators. Significant collaborations have been in the area of cancer research. Unraveling the genetic basis of familial prostate cancer has been an ongoing investigation, as well as evaluating breast cancer risk in families, and treatment options for women who have a strong family history. Another strong collaboration has been understanding the complex genetics of response to vaccinations. The need to develop new statistical methods is closely integrated with my collaborations with multidisciplinary scientific teams, because new tools are developed in response to new scientific questions. Please review my available software. Recent publicationsEducation
