Summary

The research program of Jayant A. Talwalkar, M.D., M.P.H. focuses on issues around the cost and quality of health care as well as the comparative effectiveness of diagnostic strategies and treatments for improving clinical outcomes experienced by patients. Most of Dr. Talwalkar's work in this area has centered around subjects with chronic liver disease and cirrhosis including primary biliary cirrhosis (PBC) and primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC). His work has been sponsored by research grants from the Mayo Clinic Center for Translational Science Activities (CTSA) and the National Institutes of Health.
