SummaryThe Cellular Neurobiology Laboratory has two major areas of research: repair and regeneration after spinal cord injury and the mechanism of neuronal cell death caused by chemotherapeutic agents. The laboratory coordinates its activities with those of clinicians and researchers in the Departments of Neurology, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics and the Comprehensive Cancer Center. The principal investigator (A. J. Windebank) is a neurologist with a background in biochemistry and cell biology. He directs the laboratory which studies both animal and tissue culture models of regeneration and neuron death. Members of the laboratory include technologists, post-doctoral researchers with MD or PhD degrees, medical students, graduate students and visiting scientists. The laboratory is housed on the 15th floor of the Guggenheim Building in the center of the Mayo downtown campus. Recent publicationsEducation
