Internships

The Mayo Clinic Division of Biomedical Statistics and Informatics in Rochester, Minn., typically employs several statistics and bioinformatics interns during the summer for a minimum 10-week period. We offer internships at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Longer-term internships of 6 to 9 months are also offered based on division needs and funding.

Qualification

Those eligible for the internships we offer include:

• Undergraduate students who have completed their junior year. Many of our candidates are seeking degrees in statistics, although we also receive and consider applications from other bachelor-level mathematic programs.
• Graduate students, who have completed their B.S. degree and are enrolled in a M.S. or Ph.D. statistics program.

Application timeline

All information should be received between December 1, 2012 and February 1, 2012, to be considered for the upcoming summer. Applicants will receive notification about their application status by April. Applications for longer-term internships or non-summer internships are accepted throughout the year.
