With support from the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center, student members of Biochemistry and Molecular biology (BMB) organized the first BMB Student Symposium. World-renowned researchers representing both basic sciences and disease relevant investigations discussed the student-selected theme. The list of external speakers included Drs. Eduardo Groisman, Anna Huttenlocher, Jennifer Lippincott-Schwartz, Michael Lisanti, Mark von Zastrow, and Angela Wandinger-Ness. Incorporated into the program was a poster session and wine reception open to BMB students, postdoctoral fellows, and technicians. The symposium concluded with a dinner buffet highlighted with lectures given by Mayo Clinic Department of BMB faculty. Over 200 people attended various events during the symposium. |
