Tissue and Cell Molecular Analysis (TACMA) Sectioning
Cryosectioning
Frozen tissues are sectioned using Leica cryostats. These sections can be mounted on slides for histology, immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, or laser capture microdissection. Cut cryosections can also be placed in microcentrifuge tubes for subsequent extraction of protein, DNA, or RNA. Section thickness can be controlled between 4 to 20 μm.
Paraffin Sectioning
Formalin-fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) tissues are sectioned using Leica microtomes under appropriate nuclease-free conditions. Sections are mounted on slides for H&E staining, immunohistochemistry, or laser capture microdissection. FFPE sections can also be cut and placed into microcentrifuge tubes for DNA, RNA, or protein extraction. Section thickness can be controlled between 4 to 20 μm.
