  • Doriane Trompier, Graduate student of the Institut de Biologie et Chimie des Proteines, Lyon, France. (February - April, 2002). The project was molecular mechanism of the hypersensitivity to the multidrug resistance modulator verapamil in the MRP1-overexpressing cells. The research article “Verapamil and its derivative trigger apoptosis through glutathione extrusion by multidrug resistance protein MRP1” has been submitted to Cancer Research. Doriane Trompier is a postdoctoral fellow in Dr. Chimini’s laboratory in France.
  • Zhenhua Huang, Graduate student of the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China. (October, 2000 to present). The project is floppase activity of the purified multidrug resistance protein MRP1. The research article “Flourescent modified phosphatidylcholine floppase activity of reconstituted multidrug resistance-associated protein MRP1” has been accepted by Biochemica et Biophysica Acta. Zhenhua Huang has received his Ph.D. degree.
  • Runying Yang, Postdoctoral fellow (October, 2001 to present). Mechanism of ATP-dependent anti-cancer drug transport by multidrug resistance associated protein. The article “ATP binding to the first nucleotide binding domain of MRP1 plays a regulatory role at low nucleotide concentration whereas ATP hydrolysis at the second plays a dominant role in ATP dependent LTC4 transport” has been published in J. Biological Chemistry.
  • Qing Zhao, Postdoctoral fellow (June, 2003 - October, 2006). The mechanism of ATP induced conformational change of multidrug resistance associated protein. She is a research associate now.
