Program Description Mayo Clinic Department of Otolaryngology The Crawford Fellowship was established specifically for the Department of Otolaryngology at Mayo Clinic in Florida, a busy tertiary care surgical practice with an abundance of untapped clinical experience and data awaiting assimilation, presentation and publication. The scope of the Crawford Fellowship includes all disciplines in otolaryngology. Department surgeons subspecialize in head and neck oncologic surgery, advanced endoscopic sinus surgery, laryngology and otologic/neurotologic surgery. For a motivated, self-sufficient person, the range and number of projects that may be undertaken is extensive. The research fellow may be first or second author on most publications. Mayo Clinic audiology team The department's medical and surgical records are completely electronic with search engines to facilitate data mining. This fellowship encompasses clinical research only. There is no direct participation in patient care, either surgical or non-surgical. As a Crawford fellow you will, however, have the opportunity to observe these practices. The research fellow is considered a Mayo Clinic Florida employee for the duration of the fellowship and receives:
