CT Clinical Innovation Center
In 2004, the Department of Radiology at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN established a unique model for translational research, the CT Clinical Innovation Center (CT CIC). Located in a clinical environment, our research team interacts with every aspect of our CT clinical practice in order to develop, optimize and translate into practice innovative CT technologies. Our mission is to facilitate high-impact imaging innovations that will translate impact patient care.
To accomplish this, an interdisciplinary collaboration was formed between clinical investigators, research scientists, and industry partners. Founded by Drs. Cynthia McCollough, a CT physicist with almost two decades of experience in CT imaging, and J.G. Fletcher, a gastrointestinal radiologist and leader within the Department’s Research Division, the CT CIC has matured into a thriving research group. Our staff is supported by extramural funding from the NIH, philanthropic foundations and professional societies, a research grant from Siemens Healthcare, and the Department of Radiology.
On behalf of the faculty and staff of the CT CIC, the departmental and institutional leaders who have supported this endeavor, and our collaborators at Siemens Healthcare, I would like to welcome you to this website. Here you will find links to our publications and educational exhibits; information regarding our collaborators, staff and alumni; descriptions of our latest research projects; a description of the resources of the CT CIC; and examples of the areas where we have translated our research and development accomplishments into clinical practice.
