NANO-GOLD IN ANTI-ANGIOGENIC THERAPYNanotechnology has provided exciting tools towards solving problems in biology. Gold nanoparticles have indirectly been used to deliver DNA into mammalian cells, reduce tumor burden by near infrared thermal ablative therapy, and increase efficiency of electron transfer by modulating the activity of glucose oxidase. Our ongoing studies are examining the use of these gold nanoparticles and other bioconjugates as messengers to deliver reagents that are capable of manipulating the angiogenic response in vivo .
