Overview

For patients whose cancer isn't curable by surgery or radiation, chemotherapy often represents the best hope for treatment. While chemotherapy is highly effective for some cancers, it is less effective for others. The goal of the Developmental Therapeutics Program of the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center is to help develop new, more effective cancer treatments to overcome these challenges.

Investigators in the Developmental Therapeutics Program focus on cancer research in four areas:

• Clinical trials of new agents
• Pharmacogenetics
• Signaling pathways
• Small molecule inhibitors
