Fig. 22-2

3-D volume reconstructed image of a neuron in guinea pig and spatial distribution of MAb35, a marker for nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. The IMG neuron was filled by microinjection with Lucifer Yellow, imaged by confocal microscopy and volume reconstructed using ANALYZE software. The majority (57%) of cell surface-associated sites of MAb35 immunoreactivity (putative nicotinic acetylcholine receptors, colored yellow) are distributed on the dendritic arbor. This neuron had 11 primary dendrites and an extensive dendritic arbor.
