Projects

Ongoing research projects in the Proteases in Cancer Laboratory are investigating serine proteases and metalloproteases as molecular targets for cancer therapy. These projects aim to develop recombinant protein inhibitors of these enzymes as biologic therapeutics.

The two main current research projects of the Proteases in Cancer lab are:

• Project 1: Targeting mesotrypsin breast, prostate and pancreatic cancers
• Project 2: Defining and engineering specificity of tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinases-1 (TIMP-1)
