Postdoctoral Position OpeningsPosition in Department of Physiology and Biomedical EngineeringThe Enteric Neurosciences Program at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., seeks a postdoctoral fellow to join the successful and highly collaborative team of Gianrico Farrugia, M.D. The project is focused on the cell biology of interstitial cells of Cajal and the role of those cells in regulating gastrointestinal motility in health and disease. The successful candidate should have a Ph.D. in cellular physiology, neuroscience or immunology and an interest in cell proliferation, survival and fate, or regulation of cellular excitability. The technical requirements for this position are firsthand experience with cell and tissue culture techniques, animal handling techniques and molecular biology techniques, including polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and molecular cloning, immunocytochemistry and microscopic imaging. An interest in voltage-gated ion channel physiology would be a great asset for any applicant.
