About Mark A. Frye, M.D.![]() Dr. Frye received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota and completed his psychiatric training at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute. He completed a subsequent research fellowship in the Biological Psychiatry Branch at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) in Bethesda, Maryland. While at NIMH, his area of research was focusing on the neurobiology of depression and bipolar disorder. Formerly the Director of the UCLA Bipolar Disorder Research Program (1998-2006), he is now the Director of the Mayo Mood Clinic and Research Program. His clinical interests are in bipolar disorder, depression, and alcoholism with a research focus on genomics, brain imaging, and neuroendocrinology of mood disorders and alcoholism. |
