Pancreatic SPORE Grant Developmental Research
Director: Debabrata (Dev) Mukhopadhyay, Ph.D.
The Developmental Research Program in the Mayo Clinic Pancreatic Cancer SPORE supports innovative, scientifically sound research projects from which findings can be translated into clinically relevant applications that may improve the screening, diagnosis and management of pancreatic cancer.
The Developmental Research Program:
With funds from both the SPORE grant and Mayo Clinic institutional resources, the Developmental Research Program provides up to $50,000 for three to five projects each year. The Pancreatic Cancer SPORE calls for applications annually, and the SPORE's Scientific Advisory Committee and other experienced investigators formally peer review submissions.
Developmental Research Program funds are awarded based on scientific merit, originality, qualifications and interactions of key personnel, and translational potential. Support of developmental research projects results in the generation of new hypotheses that can potentially be addressed in existing SPORE-sponsored projects or through peer-reviewed external grant support.
