The laboratory of Neill R. Graff-Radford, M.D., is actively engaged in clinical and translational research and is part of the:

  • Clinical core of the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) at Mayo Clinic
  • Memory Disorders Clinic at Mayo Clinic in Florida, one of 15 such clinics designated by the state of Florida through its Alzheimer's Disease Initiative
  • Alzheimer's Disease Cooperative Study, a National Institute on Aging-funded consortium that carries out clinical trials in Alzheimer's disease
  • Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative, a national group funded by the National Institutes of Health and industry

As part of its ADRC activities, the lab is involved in a number of studies related to cognitive impairment in African-Americans. Additionally, the lab is characterizing patients and controls in a large genetic initiative that aims to discover genes related to late-onset Alzheimer's disease, as well as investigating normal pressure hydrocephalus and evaluating if amyloid-beta (Aβ) brain imaging can be used to predict if surgery will help.
