Just as little is known about the cilia function, our knowledge about how cilia biogenesis happens in vivo is obscure, also. To explore the fundamental question about how cilia biogenesis happens in vivo, I designed three experimental approaches. Genome-wide genetic screening will be used to explore the core machinery involved in ciliogenesis. Functional genomics and functional proteomics will be used to identify genes that are required for ciliogenesis.
