Meet the Team
The Todd and Karen Wanek Family Program for Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) at Mayo Clinic involves a wide range of physicians, scientists, and laboratory and technical staff members who work together to provide solutions and hope for people with HLHS.
Based on their clinical and scientific expertise and experience, staff members are grouped into research teams, with one team dedicated to each of the program's three scientific focus areas: imaging and outcome, human genetics, and regenerative strategies. (The program's fourth focus area, the biorepository, is a crosscutting piece of infrastructure that supports work in the three scientific focus areas.)
Together, these teams comprise one integrated program. They actively collaborate, sharing their expertise and latest findings with each other to speed the research process.
