Endothelial Function and Autonomic Regulation After Short-term Smoking Cessation: Varenicline versus PlaceboIRB #: 06-007194 This is a new study proposal that will explore how acute smoking cessation affects various measures of autonomic function, ambulatory blood pressure, and vascular function (such as flow-mediated vasodilation). Young adult smokers will be studied before and 2 weeks after smoking cessation. They will be randomly assigned to receive the new nicotine cessation agent, varenicline (Chantix) versus placebo during the 2-week cessation period. |
