Chest Pain Choice

The objectives of this pilot trial are to test the, “Chest Pain Choice” decision aid. This aid hopes to improve knowledge about risk and management options, in increasing the quality of — and satisfaction with — the decision-making process; and in decreasing the rate of admission to the ED observation unit.

To increase patient knowledge of risk, our decision aid will include a quantitative estimate of risk that uses natural frequencies depicted in a pictograph.
