The work in Dr. Kullo’s laboratory is focused on biomarkers of cardiovascular risk in individuals including: genetic markers, circulating biomarkers of cardiovascular risk, and assays of arterial function.
NIH-funded postdoctoral position is available immediately to study genetic basis of atherosclerotic vascular disease and intermediate phenotypes (include circulating levels of lipids and novel risk markers), using linkage and association methods.
The candidate should be familiar with conventional linkage and association analyses using various genetics software packages as well as the analyses of genome-wide association studies of cardiovascular phenotypes. The (MD or PhD) candidate should be skilled in statistical and population genetics, programming, and bioinformatics, and have a basic biological knowledge about cardiovascular disease phenotypes. Familiarity with population and evolutionary genetics, and genome databases is preferred. The candidate should be self-motivated with strong English, computing, and writing skills.
