Dr. Kumar's laboratory conducts basic science and translational research in the following areas:

Bone and mineral physiology in health and disease
Regulation of blood pressure and vascular remodeling
Understanding the modulation of immune tolerance, dendritic cell function and cellular growth by 1a,25-dihydroxyvitamin D. 1a,25-dihydroxyvitamin D inhibits cell growth and alters apoptosis
Study of renal disease in diabetes mellitus and polycystic kidney disease
