ABOUT DR. LAZARIDIS

Dr. Konstantinos Lazaridis received his M.D. (summa cum laude) from the University of Ioannina, Greece in 1989. He is currently a Consultant in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine.

Dr. Lazaridis completed his Internal Medicine training (1993-1996) and Gastroenterology fellowship (1996-2000) at Mayo Clinic-Rochester. He was a Mayo Foundation Scholar in Genomics in the National Human Genome Research Institute at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD (2000-2002), before joining the staff at the Mayo Clinic in 2003. His current research interests include the genetic predisposition to chronic cholestatic liver diseases and the biology of biliary epithelia.

Dr. Lazaridis is a member of the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL) and American Society for Human Genetics (ASHG).
