Long Term Effects of SWL, Including Diabetes

Using a mailed survey, Dr. Krambeck previously found that patients who received extracorporal shockwave lithotripsy (ESWL) in the 1980s appeared to have an increased risk of diabetes. This pilot project will use the resources of the Rochester Epidemiology Project to conduct a more definitive and detailed population-based study to confirm these important findings.
