CLINICAL TRIALSEtanercept for Alcoholic HepatitisDouble-Blind, Randomized, Placebo Controlled Trial of Etanercept for the Treatment of Alcoholic Hepatitis IRB Number : Trial Status : Open for Enrollment Phase: III Why is this study being done? Etanercept is a novel anti-inflammatory drug which has shown promise in phase II studies as an efficacious therapy for patients with moderate to severe alcoholic hepatitis. Therapy is for 3 weeks with 6 months follow-up. Positive results are anticipated to result in FDA approval for the use of etanercept as treatment for alcoholic hepatitis.
