Overview

The Vascular and Interventional Radiology lab is interested in understanding the mechanisms for hemodialysis graft failure. In order to accomplish this, the laboratory uses multiple different animal models of hemodialysis graft failure to test different hypotheses to determine whether they are implicated in venous neointimal hyperplasia. The ultimate goal of this research is to improve outcomes in patients suffering from end-stage renal disease by developing novel therapies which can be delivered by image guided intervention.
