MRFA ADVOCACY

One mission of MRFA is to serve as advocates for the educational, financial, and social concerns of the membership. Mayo Clinic is unique in that the educational and research branches were established after Mayo had built a world-wide reputation as a leading medical center. As a result of this, Mayo is not affiliated with any research or undergraduate educational institution. Therefore, many of the temporary professionals that come to Mayo to further their career development find a unique research environment not commonly found at other major universities and research centers. Thus, it was necessary to create an organization to bridge these differences and provide a framework for providing leadership and professional development for the emerging research scientist.
