OVERVIEW

The Magnetic Resonance Research Laboratory, in the Department of Radiology at Mayo Clinic, is a team working to develop new MR imaging techniques and expanded applications of MR. Research projects include those in basic development, studies testing experimental feasibility, and preliminary evaluations in clinical examinations. As these new techniques are developed, they are put into clinical practice at Mayo Clinic and other sites worldwide.

INNOVATIVE BIOTECHNOLOGY

The Magnetic Resonance Laboratory at Mayo Clinic has invented new MR technologies that have been incorporated into every MR scanner in the world. Their inventions help millions of people. And MR investigators work closely with their clinical colleagues to bring state-of-the-art biotechnology to patient care in record time. It's a dynamic lab that has earned an international reputation for continually finding novel ways to use imaging. This article describes some of those novel technologies, the MR lab's past achievements, current projects and an enticing look into what we can expect from this dynamic lab in the future.
