MRI GUIDED FOCUSED ULTRASOUND ABLATION(Thermal and Non-Thermal Effects) This area of study includes equipment designed to thermally ablate tissue while under MR image guidance. The therapy can be monitored in real time using thermally sensitive MR imaging techniques. The main goals of this work include: feasibility evaluation of this technique and assessment of this technology for clinical use, preparation for clinical trial of this equipment, assessment of the focus ultrasound equipment for surface lesion ablation, and development of thermal and non-thermal ablation monitoring techniques. |
