Human Imaging Core
Director: Bernard F. King, M.D.
The Human Imaging Core provides services to assess and catalog PKD progression or regression. The core’s two main focus areas are imaging data management and image analysis.
Related to data management, the core is building a dedicated image-management system in which imaging data will be stored, managed and easily accessible to investigators. Interested researchers external to Mayo will be able to request images from — and add their images to — this robust database.
For analysis services, the core offers semiautomated magnetic resonance (MR) and computed tomography (CT) image and volumetric analyses of polycystic kidneys and liver. Additionally, it offers functional assessment of the kidneys and heart, including measurements of renal blood flow.
