Summary

Investigator: Michael Fautsch, Ph.D.

A postdoctoral position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Michael Fautsch at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Fautsch has an active basic science research laboratory that studies the pathogenesis of glaucoma. General areas of research include:

1) Development and characterization of novel therapeutics to reduce elevated intraocular pressure, the only treatable risk-factor for glaucoma.

2) Characterization of the cellular mechanisms associated with intraocular pressure control.

3) Identification of aqueous humor flow patterns within the anterior chamber of the human eye.

4) Comparison of normal and glaucoma fluids and tissues for identification of biomarkers.
