About Dr. Prakash

Y.S. Prakash, M.D., Ph.D., is a board-certified, practicing anesthesiologist who spends a significant portion of his time in the research laboratory. He has been at Mayo Clinic since 1990. After completing his Ph.D. and postdoctoral training at Mayo, he completed medical school at the University of Minnesota and residency training in Anesthesiology at Mayo. Dr. Prakash is a recognized investigator and expert in muscle biology. His research is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH; R01), the Flight Attendants’ Medical Research Institute (FAMRI), and the Mayo Foundation (Clinical Research Grants).
