Correlation of Changes in Kidney Blood Flow

Correlation of changes in kidney blood flow and tubular reabsorption with components of the renin-angiotensin/oxidative stress cascade and endothelin in the renovascular hypertension induced by renal artery stenosis or in hypertension induced by chronic infusion of low dose angiotensin II.
To test whether oxidative stress, induced by depletion of antioxidant capacity, leads to hypertension due to angiotensin II-induced activation of oxidative stress.
To test if ischemic nephropathy, induced by renal artery stenosis, is accompanied by a chronic renal hypoxia and if this hypoxia is reversible after stenosis dilation as measured by blood oxygen-level dependent (BOLD) MRI.
