Cardiovascular MRI

Methods being developed for cardiovascular MRI include rapid scan techniques designed to be performed over one or a series of breathholds or respiratory cycles as well as methods which use contrast agents. These are being applied to virtually all vascular regions, including the carotid, coronary, renal, and peripheral arteries.

The sequenced arrival of contrast agent.

One specific project involves the use of real-time or "fluoroscopic" imaging to detect arrival of intravenously administered contrast agent in vasculature of interest and upon detection, trigger a high resolution 3D sequence.
