This Symposium features lectures by a prestigious faculty of scientists, engineers and physicians who are internationally renowned leaders in the field of Medical Image Computing and Image Guided Intervention. These faculty are credited with many of the seminal ideas and enabling concepts in this field and are responsible, historically and at present, for many of the technological developments, advances and applications in the field. Their lectures will highlight these foundational contributions, describe and illustrate current leading-edge developments and provide prognostic glimpses into the exciting future of medical image computing and image guided intervention.
