About Dr. Schaid![]() Daniel J. Schaid is a Professor in the Section of Biostatistics, Department of Health Sciences Research, Mayo Clinic, and has a joint appointment in the Department of Medical Genetics. He received a master's degree in human genetics (1981) and a Ph.D. in biostatistics (1986), both from the University of Pittsburgh. After working in cancer clinical trials and genetic studies from 1986-1992 at Mayo Clinic, Dr. Schaid took sabbatical leave from 1992-1993 to work on statistical genetics problems with Dr. Robert Elston, then at Louisiana State University Medical Center. Since 1993, Dr. Schaid has been actively researching statistical methods for genetic linkage and association studies, and has collaborated in a broad range of human genetic studies. |
