Vascular Remodeling and Tumor AngiogenesisFormation of new vessels and structural changes in existing vessels are important in cancer, liver disease, and other conditions. The mechanism and signaling pathways in vascular cells such as endothelial cells and pericytes, which mediate these processes, are not fully understood. Our laboratory works on these problems at multiple levels from in vivo modeling to analysis of how changes in actin membrane structures allow vascular cells to move and stop moving. Such mechanisms of vascular cell motility are a particular focus of our lab. |
