Summary

T cell activation by the TCR/CD3 complex. The TCR/CD3 complex is a multi-protein membrane receptor that enables T cells to identify antigens. When antigen binds to the TCR, a conformational change is induced within the CD3 subunits (CD3Dc). Though important for optimal T cell activation, CD3Dc impacts signal transduction by unknown mechanisms. In my laboratory, biochemical and genetic approaches are used to study the molecular pathways downstream of CD3Dc related with signaling transduction. Additionally, in vitro and in vivo experimentation is designed to understand CD3Dc function in T cell development and T cell activation during immune responses.
