Most of my research focuses on one of the following major themes:

Cardiovascular disease in women and sex-based research of cardiovascular conditions
Coronary heart disease:symptoms, pathophysiology, microvascular disease
Risk factors and prevention
Optional diagnostic and treatment strategies
Heart disease in pregnancy and the effects of pregnancy-related conditions such as diabetes and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy
Spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) in women and men
Heart failure in women
Reduction of health disparities and health equity, especially as it relates to women and minorities
Development and assessment of strategies and programs to increase the number of women and minorities in science, medicine, cardiology and the leadership ranks of academic medicine.
