SummaryMy research focuses on imaging markers of dementia. The goal of my research is to identify imaging markers for early diagnosis, differential diagnosis and for detecting progression of dementia. I am currently studying the imaging technique proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy and diffusion tensor imaging as a non-invasive surrogate marker for prodromal dementia. My other area of research involves estrogen replacement in newly menopausal women. Our research team is measuring the effects of estrogen replacement on brain structure with magnetic resonance imaging in a multi-center, randomized blinded study of estrogen treatment in newly menopausal women.
