Summary

My current research interests are focused on identifying biomarkers with predictive and prognostic impact in patients with:

  • Advanced prostate cancer
  • Advanced kidney cancer
  • Advanced bladder cancer
  • All stages of testicular cancer

I direct biorepositories in the Division of Medical Oncology and the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center, which are involved in collecting high-quality, clinically annotated blood and urine specimens from patients visiting the Cancer Center clinics for their care.

The purpose of these biorepositories is to:

  • Provide germline DNA; proteomic and metabolomic specimen sets for biomarker development in the listed genito-urinary tumors
  • Establish multi-institutional nationwide networks for biomarker discovery, development and validation, which will expedite the use of validated cancer biomarkers in these malignancies.

My research interests also involve conducting and overseeing phase I-III clinical trials in the advanced stages of the above malignancies in the Mayo Clinic Division of Medical Oncology.
