SummaryDr. Li's interests range from software architectures to systems bioinformatics. After receiving his PhD at UCSF, he joined Johns Hopkins as assistant professor and developed the software architecture for Genome Database (GDB) and Online Mendelians Inheritance in Man (OMIM) database. In 1998, he joined Celera Genomics as the Director for Chromosome Team, which was responsible for the QA and annotation of the Celera genome. In addition, he headed the Advanced Scientific Application group to carry out novel applications of genomic bioinformatics. In 2004, he transitioned to Applied Biosystems to solidify the bioinformatics behind AB's reagent platforms and scientific collaborations. He joined Mayo in 2007 as Vice Chair of Biomedical Informatics. His current interest is establishing a bioinformatics foundation for gene expression, genotyping, proteomics, and systems biology for translational research.
