SummaryRESEARCH INTERESTS: 1. Studies of the immunogenetic mechanisms underlying the variation in immune responses to pathogens, including measles, mumps, rubella, anthrax, influenza and smallpox. 2. Studies of the basis for vaccine non-responsiveness at various levels of host-pathogen interaction, such as gene expression (HLA, cytokines, cytokine receptors, Toll-like receptors) and immune (humoral and cellular) response levels. 3. Studies of antigen processing and presentation and the application of novel mass spectrometry for the development of novel peptide-based vaccines for measles, smallpox, avian influenza and agents of bioterrorism.
