Summary

Dr. Wall's research is primarily focused on pediatric mood disorders. Specifically, he has sponsored three separate Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) applications in the study of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) in treatment resistant adolescent depression. He will be conducting the first known double-blinded, sham-controlled trial of rTMS in depressed adolescents.

In support of his research, he recently received the 2011 Klingenstein Third Generation Foundation Fellowship in Pediatric Depression and has numerous other research grants and teaching awards.

He has been Chair of the Department Small Grants Committee and is a member of the Department Research Committee. He also serves as a member of the National Network of Depression Centers task groups for Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation and Child & Adolescent Mood Disorders.

Dr. Wall also has recently published and presented on the topic of pharmacogenomic utility in pediatric psychopharmacology. He collaborates with Dr. Peter Jensen and Dr. Mark Frye in the development of a pediatric bipolar disorder biobank that will add to the understanding of this complex mood illness.
