SummaryI am a gastrointestinal cancer oncologist with a focus in esophageal and stomach cancer. My main research objective is the development and validation of clinical-molecular profiles which stratify patients according to likelihood of success with a particular therapy. My work is performed in collaboration with the laboratory of Robert Diasio, M.D., director of the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center. My additional key collaborators at Mayo Clinic are Yvonne Romero, M.D., (gastroenterology), Dennis Wigle, M.D. (thoracic surgery), Tsung-Teh Wu, M.D. (anatomic pathology), Steve Alberts, M.D. (medical oncology), and Gloria Petersen, Ph.D. (molecular epidemiology). I am the principal investigator of an ancillary Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group study (E1201T1), exploring the prognostic value of single nucleotide polymorphisms and loss of heterozygosity in gastroesophageal patients who completed chemoradiation and surgery. This work is funded through an American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Young Investigator Award. I am also a current recipient of the Paul Calabresi Scholar Award (Mayo Clinic Cancer Center K-12). Recent publicationsSee a listing of my publications Education
