SummaryDr. Bible combines his clinical practice as a medical oncologist with basic, translational, and clinical research initiatives directed toward the ultimate goal of improving therapies for cancers. His research focuses on the discovery and development of novel small molecules as cancer therapeutics, with emphasis upon elaboration of undelying mechanisms of action as a way to gain insights into cancer pathogenesis. His primary research interests include: 1) discovery and development of therapeutics targeting redox pathways as means of selectively killing cancer cells, 2) improving knowledge of how cancer cells develop resistance to cancer therapies with the goal of circumventing such resistance, 3) identification of abnormalities associated with ovarian cancer, thyroid cancers and multiple myeloma with potential to lead to discoveries that may improve therapy for these diseases, and 4) developing innovative clinical trials with the goal of improving outcomes for cancer patients.
