Summary

Juliane Bingener-Casey, M.D., has had a long-term interest in the outcomes of minimally invasive surgery and endoscopy.

Focus areas

  • Comparative effectiveness of novel minimally invasive procedures. To measure the outcomes of minimally invasive procedures, such as laparoscopy and endoscopy, Dr. Bingener-Casey and her team are using patient-reported outcomes and biomarkers of pain, inflammation and operative stress.

Significance to patient care

Dr. Bingener-Casey's research aims to continuously decrease the invasiveness of surgical procedures. To accomplish this, she and her colleagues want to better understand how patients report their outcomes and what is most important to them.

This information will help Dr. Bingener-Casey better meet patients' needs as she and her team develop and investigate new surgical approaches and technologies.
